2011 winner of TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful beauty pageant, Sally Akua Amoakowaa Mensah popularly called Akua Ghana’s Most Beautiful who doubles as Chief Executive Officer of the beauty pageant, Miss Golden Stool has disclosed that the beauty pageant is different from the rest.
The beauty pageant which is aimed at celebrating the rich culture of the Ashanti region will also address the sanitation issues which has bedeviled the region.
Speaking to phamousghana.com , the TV presenter disclosed that Miss Golden Stool is the first beauty pageant that will be done in the local dialect which is Twi. She also added that any beauty pageant in Ghana which dwells on standards that only look out for slim and tall ladies is discriminatory.
“If you are organizing a beauty pageant in Ghana and your requirements are that of a white woman, then it means that pageant has lost its value. A typical African woman is not too tall and slim. We have thick bones and that make us naturally endowed.”
The 12 finalists of the maiden edition of Miss Golden stool will be officially unveiled at a grand durbar at the Kumasi Cultural Centre, tomorrow 13th October,2018.
