Fetu Afahye is a festival celebrated annually by the chiefs and people of Cape Coast in the Central region of Ghana. The festival is celebrated on the first Saturday in the month of September every year.
This year’s Fetu Afahye was climaxed on Saturday, September 1, with a colourful durbar after a week-long celebration.
It was a display of rich Ghanaian culture on Saturday morning as the chiefs, queen mothers and Asafo companies as well as the general public, went on a procession which started from the Mfantsipim School Junction through the Kotokuraba Market before ending up at the durbar grounds at the Jubilee Park.
