Radio Personality and Blogger, Ebenezer Nana Yaw Donkoh popularly known as NY DJ has called on organizers of RTP Awards to have a database.This he believes will bring some level of confidence in the awards scheme and make it more credible.
NY DJ who has been nominated in this year’s RTP Awards, Best Radio Personality in Ashanti Region category believes that a database on radio and tv personalities would help organizers make the right selection in terms of categorization.
Speaking in an interview with Naa Klordey Odonkor on Ultimate Showbiz, NY DJ opined that organizers should set up a strong board who will work behind the scenes to ensure they select the right and deserving people for nominations.
“If you really want to celebrate people who are worth it, Radio and Television personalities who are putting in work, then i think you need to have in place an academy or board made of professionals who will sit back, analyse work and say this person deserve to be rewarded or honoured for work being done.”
He also added that the academy or board will make the awards scheme credible and attractive.
“If there is an academy or board put in place,it makes the award scheme more credible and attractive.We need to start celebrating people for their work and professionalism than just allowing people to vote.When it comes to vote, then obviously we are looking at other side, business than professionalism.”
