Popular Nigerian UK-based Entertainment guru, Akinlolu Jekins also called “Jikiemi ” has stated that Africa has a lot of entertainment personalities and it is time to put them on the global map.
” Our leaders need to invest seriously in entertainment because it is creating more jobs for the youths and also helping the African Economy”.
The versatile entertainment entrepreneur called on African Tourism Ministries and Creative Arts Organizations to liaise with global investors to focus more on creative arts.
Jekins used the opportunity to name some of the creative arts doing well in Africa and globally.
“Africa is a great place for investment, especially with the entertainment aspect. Africans are beginning to accept entertainment as a strong source of livelihood and they are actually doing well. For instance, Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and skit makers such as Broda Shaggi, Mr Macaroni, Sabinus, Brain Jotter, Nasboi, Crazeclown, De General, and more, are all trying their best to put Africa on the map so we need more support,” he said.
Akinlolu Jekins is widely known in the United Kingdom for hosting several African events in the UK such as Comedy Special Events and Entertainment shows.
