The finals of the 12th edition of the spelling bee came off over the weekend at the Accra Digital Center with Kwabena Adu Darko-Asare rising above his fellow competitors to win the Ultimate and been crowned 2019 Spelling Bee Champion.
The winner, Kwabena Adu Darko-Asare from DPS International Ghana,Tema couldn’t hide his joy upon the realization he had correctly
His victory was met with cheers and a standing ovation from the spectators who had spent the final moments of the competition on the edge of their seats.
Kwabena will now represent Ghana at the Scripps Spelling Bee international competition at Washington DC in the United States of America.
He took home a trophy and other prizes including a Gift Voucher from Blue Knights book shop.
Kwabena had stiff competition from runners up Yoofi Baah of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School and Jeremy Agyei Baafour-Agyei of DPS International Ghana.
